This One is Close to Home: Bezit and the Reedy High School Band

This One Is Close to Home

Bezit's office is right here in Frisco. So is Reedy High School.

That proximity is the entire reason this sponsorship came together the way it did. We are not a national brand writing checks into a market we have only seen on a map. We are a local Frisco business supporting a Frisco school, and the people we work with every week live in the very neighborhoods that fill its classrooms.

Bezit is a proud sponsor of the Reedy High School Marching Band for the 2026-27 season.

What We Like About This Program

Marching band asks something unusual of teenagers. It asks them to be technically precise and physically exhausted at the same time, outdoors, in Texas heat, while keeping count.

There is no way to fake any of it. Either you know the drill or the form shows the hole where you were supposed to be. Either you practiced the phrase or it falls apart in front of everyone. It is one of the most honest feedback loops a young person will ever stand inside, and the Frisco ISD music directors running it treat that responsibility carefully.

We also like that it is creative work. Most of what school measures rewards arriving at a single correct answer. A marching show has no single correct answer. It is an artistic interpretation, and students spend an entire fall living inside someone's creative vision, learning to serve it rather than override it. That is a completely different muscle.

Discipline and creativity in the same activity is rare. Programs that manage both are worth putting real support behind.

Sponsoring as a Neighbor, Not a Brand

There is a real difference between marketing to a community and actually being part of one.

What Bezit does for people around here is specific and pretty unglamorous: we help local property owners with their annual property tax bills. Many of our customers live a short drive from our office, and when a Frisco family keeps more of their hard-earned money, that money stays right here in Frisco. Sponsoring a local high school band is that exact same idea moving in the other direction.

The amount involved is small against a full school district budget. But it is not small at all to a band program that needs:

  • A instrument or sousaphone repaired in the second week of October
  • A set of custom props built before a big competition
  • A participation fee quietly covered for a student whose family is having a tight year

That is usually what community sponsorship actually buys. Not just a banner on a fence—a real problem solved in the middle of a season.

A Word to the Band Parents

Anyone who has done this job knows what it involves:

  • The 6:00 a.m. drop-offs and the evening pickups that always run late
  • Quick meals eaten standing up in a high school parking lot
  • Saturdays that start at a school field and end there fourteen hours later
  • Cooler hauling, pit crew shifts, and emergency uniform repairs at midnight

Marching band programs run on that parent labor just as much as on any funding. If you are one of those parents this fall, the season simply does not happen without you.

To the Lions

Band camp is behind you. The season is straight ahead, starting Saturday, August 15.

Somewhere between now and November, the show is going to click—probably at a practice session nobody came to watch—and it will be worth every early morning that got you there.

Have a great fall, Reedy. We will be watching from the stands. Go Lions.
